Our Story
How Hello Hyperlocal Started
It started with a simple question: How do we help people feel more connected to the place they already call home?
Living in Linden for more than a decade as both a resident and local business owner, it became clear how easily we miss what's happening right around us. We hear about a new restaurant after it has already opened, or miss local events shared in WhatsApp groups we weren't part of. We drive past great independent businesses without knowing their story, and struggle to find a trusted local service when we need one.
The Hello Vision
Linden never lacked community. What was missing was a simple, trusted way to bring it all together. That idea became Hello Hyperlocal.

The Vision
Hello Linden is where the journey begins
The vision is much bigger. A trusted digital home for neighbourhoods across South Africa, helping people feel more connected to where they live, the people around them and the businesses and organisations that make each community unique.

Yes. Local businesses can register their interest today, and can also choose to become one of the first Founding Businesses so we can plan launch together.
No. Hello Linden is an independent platform built to support and strengthen the whole suburb. We work alongside community associations, local leaders, schools and community organisations as partners, rather than replacing any of them.
We handle your details in line with South Africa's POPIA (Protection of Personal Information Act). We only ask for what we need to keep you updated before launch, we never sell or share your details with third parties, and you can ask us to remove them at any time. Full detail is in our Privacy Policy.
That is the intention. Hello Linden is being built so residents, schools, local organisations and community projects can share what is happening in the neighbourhood (events, notices and local stories) rather than depending on word of mouth.
Yes, that is the bigger vision. Hello Linden is where we learn, listen and refine the model. From there the aim is to bring Hello Hyperlocal to other South African communities, while each suburb keeps its own identity, character and local voice.
